SinagLarawan opens 2026 national photo contest with theme Pagbubunyi
The nationwide SinagLarawan Photo Contest has opened its 2026 edition with the theme Pagbubunyi, inviting photographers across the Philippines to capture everyday victories and the many ways Filipinos celebrate them.
Now on its fourth year, the SinagLarawan Photo Contest is a Community Investment initiative of JTI Philippines. The competition aims to recognize the caliber and creativity of Filipino photographers in documenting history, preserving the different aspects of our culture, and capturing the traits and traditions that shape the Filipino identity.
This year’s theme highlights the Filipino spirit of support, pride, and shared joy in the success of others. Entries will be accepted until August 10.
“Filipinos are joyful and deeply emphatic, and Pagbubunyi is an attempt to capture how Pinoys find ways to help and support one another and how jubilant we are in witnessing their triumphs,” said Shaiful Bahari Mahpar, Director for Corporate Affairs and Communications at JTI Philippines.
“JTI deeply appreciates the dedication of Filipino photographers whose submissions reflect the vast talent and artistic excellence found across the country.” Mahpar added. “We are proud of how SinagLarawan has evolved, and we remain committed to advancing it as a national platform that empowers and inspires photographers to capture the many dimensions of the Filipino experience with insight, authenticity, and exceptional creativity.”
As part of this year’s campaign, SinagLarawan includes roadshows in Iloilo City and Cagayan de Oro City, following its Manila launch, to engage more photography communities and encourage broader participation.
